Yes, living in the cold (when the road crews cannot or do not work) does have a tendency to crowd the summer roads with these unfortunate delays. Setting clocks ahead does not work, because your brain knows and your wife will get pissed off when the clock is wrong. Another irritation you don't need. there is only one way to change: when you figure out when you have to leave to be on time, set it 15 minutes earlier and then leave. Not rushing , you wont miss the detour signs...and your blood pressure will be much better when you finally get to your doctors appointment...
